b.e_cooling mixes urban themes and rustic moods to create memorable and thought-provoking songs which smoothly cross several genres (blues, folk, rock, country). With a tantalizing blend of acoustic guitars, dulcimers, bass and an eclectic range of percussion providing an infective accompaniment to a sonically rich vocal range, they create an experience that is “clever, politically charged, and fun” (The Journal, October 2009).
Since first performing together at Glastonbury Festival 2008, Brian Cooling and Woody Woodward have been working in the recording studio and on stage to create a singular sound with which they journey through a variety of styles and tempos, drawing from a diverse range of musical influences from ‘the fifties’ to the current day. Some listeners have likened them to such artists as Johnny Cash, the Doors, Crash Test Dummies, Gomez and Mumford and Sons.
They have been well-received in the Southwest’s regional media and have appeared on BBC Somerset Sounds and GFM. They have impressed audiences of all ages with their proficiency and stage manner and their songs have been described by listeners as “amazing”, “awesome”, “magical” and “incendiary”.

Make the Time
A short upbeat and catchy bluesy, folk/rock tune. Played on acoustic guitars (including slide on resonator), cajon and bass. Described by KIAC Radio 'Oh my God, You'll Love This' as having "adventurous textures, musicality with an american grain" - which I totally agree with!
