Combining the talents of two diverse yet harmonious musicians, Tipsy In Chelsea is an electric, almost telepathic blend of pop and jazz. The result is an engaging frenzy of dynamics - and cross country logistics. Cofounders Trish Thompson and Dean Falcone collaborate from the creative comfort of their home studios by long distance, using modern technology as their palette.
Trish, an active part of the vibrant Atlanta, Georgia music scene, supplies the lyrics and melodies that easily compliment the music of Dean, a New Haven, Connecticut-based multi-instrumentalist. The two forged a fast friendship at a benefit concert and immediately decided to collaborate on material, using the internet as a conduit for ideas and their almost encyclopedic knowledge of music as a springboard of inspiration.
Their admiration for pop music and pop culture in general has quickly grown into a hard-to-classify but easily appreciated hybrid of lush choral pop and contemporary standards. This Chelsea isn’t New York or London. It’s the heady intersection where Rodgers & Hart, Boyce & Hart, Costello & Lowe and Zander & Nielsen mix and mingle.
The Tipsy collaborators are excited about the plans brewin’ for 2011. ""We’ve been sharing ideas back and forth for several months"", explains Trish. ""Soon we'll choose the best of what we’ve created and share it with the world. I can't wait to for everyone to hear what we've been doing.""
