Stanley Floyd is a singer/songwriter.
Stanley grew up in the Ozark Mountain country of Northwest Arkansas on a small farm.
His Mom and Dad raised nine children, Stanley being the fourth from the youngest, with his Dad sometimes working three jobs to keep food on the table.
Stanley learned what it's like to be poor having to work at an early age, as did the rest of his brothers and sisters.
The family began building steel buildings when Stanley was approximately in the seventh grade. Stanley went on to be a building erector and contractor. The family business is still putting up buildings though Stanley’s father has passed away.
Stanley enjoyed music from the time he was small, but it wasn’t until he gave his life to the Lord at eighteen years old that he seriously began to write.
He says he can’t really write until God puts a song on his heart and then everything falls in place as God helps him line by line.
Many of his songs have a story behind them as he came through the many hardships, joys and sometimes sorrows along the path God has chosen for him.
Stanley’s song “Reaching Out to You” was written for his wife as she lay ill. It looked as if she would not recover, but they believed for a miracle and she is still alive today.
The song “When Mother Leaves Her Boy” was written about his own Mother and he says sadly that, “…every word is true but I’ll meet her again with joy, not to be separated again.”
Stanley’s desire is that all that chance to hear his songs would be blessed and that their lives would be the better for it.
