Nina Maria was born Adeje Baki Tart, in St. Louis, MO on January 23,1978. I am a hermaphrodite rapper and R&B singer. I skipped first grade and ended up going to a gifted schools in St. Louis until 9th grade and my Big Mama died. I took it hard and ended up moving to Memphis, TN with my father for the rest of my high school years, I took Advanced Placement
classes and graduated with a GPA of 5.0. I lived in Whitehaven and North Memphis, and I graduated from Whitehaven High School. I went to Atlanta and studied a year at Morehouse...I failed out, and I ended up going into the Marine Corps where I got two meritorious promotions and I was a Small Computer Systems Specialist for four years and I was a Sergeant (E-5) when I got out with a Honorable Discharge. I was in an abusive relationship that was very unhealthy for me and my best friend from the Marine Corps killed himself. I had a nervous breakdown and had to go to the psych ward on Goby Rd.
It was downhill a long time after that, from selling drugs in a trap house in St. Louis, being in homeless shelters, I did two years in prison (most of the time in the hole) and two years on parole. I read the Bible in it's entirety twice while I was inside, before I started to study it. I've been rapping and singing since I was seven and I started playing the tenor sax when I was in middle school. I didn't practice much, but I got by playing by ear. I started making beats around 2013, and I haven't stopped since then. I have schizoaffective disorder and that's one of the main reasons I usually freestyle my lyrics. I got diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2012. But my Mama told me not to give up! I'm just a young sophisticated thug looking for my dreams to manifest.
