Jordan Bazza is an incredibly personal writer; as much a wordsmith or poet as a composer, with a strong emphasis on expression and emotional experience. He takes influence from personal forays and alternative artists such as Hotel Books, City and Colour, and D at Sea, and even more well-known artists such as Ed Sheeran and The 1975. “I’ve always loved a wide array of music especially deeply emotional outlets, and I think I draw on that when I write.” With a tasteful blend of styles, it’s hard to disagree, along with a deep rooted mature insight into a young man’s taste of love and loss.
His debut album, which is fueled by the many emotional turmoil’s of a young man trying to make his way in a big world, really speaks to the listener in a visceral, relatable and direct way. The debut effort is a combination of an aggressively beautiful sadness and an uplifting soundscape, with a deep closeness to the heart. Jordan commented “I feel as if my music is almost a diary, an outlet to express what I can’t easily say. Sometimes I find it hard to make sense of how I feel, so I write it down at 5am.” The 9 track album, which is set to be released the 8th of July, is a stellar first rendition of everything this young writer and soul has to offer musically, as well as an insight into the mind of a 22-year-old dreamer.
