Maggie Kim is one of the most prominent Asian-American music artists in the independent music arena. She won the first JANE Magazine/Maybelline Reader CD contest, was a finalist in the Shure Musical Roots Contest and was voted as one of Kweevak.com’s top artists of 2005.
She was a featured artist on XM Satellite Radio, Stir TV and Enchantress Radio, where she was nominated for 2004 Artist of the Year. She’s been profiled in The Korea Times, The Washington Post, The Korea Daily, The New York Observer, The Segye Times, Fox News (TV), ImaginAsian TV/Radio and KMTV (Korea).
Maggie has toured the West Coast, Korea and Texas, where she was selected for a GoGirls showcase at SXSW. GoGirls founder Madalyn Sklar had this to say about Maggie’s performance, ""I have to mention one band that really blew me away that I had not seen perform live until Saturday night and that was Maggie Kim. WOW!""
She was one of three music artist selected to perform at this year’s CAPA festival in Union Square, where she performed for thousands of New Yorkers and shared a stage with Jet Li and Morgan Freeman. Maggie is also active in various charities, having performed for Rock the Vote! and ARIA NY, as well as organizing and playing at the NY Rocks For Tsunami Relief benefit featuring John Legend. She is endorsed by Fender and her music was recently featured on MTV’s PowerGirls.
