Templeton Pek are a Birmingham (UK) based three piece who pride themselves on their energetic and highly powerful melodic uplifting songs, thriving on their live performances and their strong song writing.
Regulars on the Birmingham gig scene TP have built up a cult following especially with regular handpicked support slots at the Carling Academy and Barfly, which has provided the band with a great opportunity to play with established acts with professional performances. Support slots include: My Awesome Compilation, The Holiday Plan, The Icarus Line, Modey Lemon, Tsunami Bomb, The Not Katies, Laika Dog, No Comply, Adequate Seven, Have A Go Hero, Keiko, Kubrick, Johnny Panic and more recently Anemic and Hollywood Ending. The band also played a short set at Reading Festival 2005 in the Nokia Raw tent.
Recently TP won an online voting competition on Myspace.com to play the Taste Of Chaos Tour to a sold out audience at the Doncaster Dome with Funeral For A Friend, The Used, Killswitch Engage, Rise Against and Story Of The Year.
These gigs have been invaluable in allowing the band to become more professional in performances, to get exposure to large target audiences and to generally grow in strength as a band.
The band: Neal Mitchell (24,vocals/bass), Kev Green (24,guitar/backing vocals) and Simon Barford (21,drums) are currently booked to record brand new material with producer Joe Gibb (FFAF, 3 Colours Red, Hondo Maclean) at Mighty Atom Studios in Wales in the new year.
These are exciting times for The Pek.....stay tuned.....
