Sporting the drearily obvious line-up of two guitars, a bass and some drums, Mokita have predictable influences like Radiohead, Nirvana, Neds, Manics, Hendrix, yet thankfully manage to come off sounding like a sort of hybrid of Sonic Youth, Fugazi and At the Drive-In, with a dash of bands like Mclusky, Slint and Shellac. Though obviously nowhere near as good, otherwise we'd already be rich and famous. *sigh*
The name is an untranslatable word from the South-East Asian area of the world, though an approximate meaning would be ""the truths that everyone knows but no-one talks about,"" suggesting it would be better to give an example, but I don't have one of those. The name is nothing to do with the well-known manufacturer of tools, nor is it anything to do with some random woman who presents C4's P.O.S. music program T4, nor is it a reference to the snake-creature in the Buffy episode 'Reptile Boy', a name David Greenwalt claims he made up. Let's be honest, if you were going to name your band after a villain in Buffy you'd go with 'The Gentlemen' or 'Der Kindestod', or something and someone probably already has. Oh and we've nothing against Buffy, before anyone thinks otherwise.
