The legend of SmokeStar says that Steve Ladagona (guitars) and Chigger (bass) met one fateful night backstage at a Black Label Society concert through mutual friends. After hours of talking, they realized that they had too much in common, musically and socially. Steve, at the time, was signed to LTS Records, who was backed by Vince Neil's Bad Bones Inc. LTS Records folded and so did Steve's band. It was then that Steve had a vision that would include his new brother, Chigger. Together this dynamic duo wrote songs, while in the process of searching for the right components of what would become known as Smoke Star. Drummer, Chris Manfre, was discovered one night while playing drums for his cover band, but his power and thunderous sound really impressed Steve and Chigger. They talked Chris into an audition and a week later Smoke Star had a backbone. Smoke Star entered Crystal Studios in Park Ridge, NJ to record their self-titled 4 song EP. This EP showcases what Smoke Star is capable of with high-energy songs like ""Separate"" to the extremely melodic ""Empty"" to the anthemic ""Keep It Alive"". The EP is anchored by the very catchy ""Home"". That was CHAPTER 1. CHAPTER 2 starts with the addition of a new frontman, Ivo, who has had his way with most of the existing music to create a less restricted sound for the band. The response to the newly unrecorded songs has been great and Smoke Star continues to impress with their energetic live show, but the real question is…..Is the world really ready to be 'SMOKED'?
