Far Off The Zoo was founded in the late 2003 / early 2004. Singer Boris and Drummer Chris knew each other already from a former band they had played in, but the old band broke up, you know that stuff.
During one of the concerts of that old band they met Julien, who told them that he was playing bass and would like to play some stuff together. After a long time Chris finally gave Julien a call about jamming together. But jamming with two people sucks, so they needed some other guys who were able to play an instrument. Because of that they started the band Carpe Noctem (former name, changed later, because it was to goth) with Boris as their singer, Julien as their bassist, Richard (who was a friend of Boris' and was in Chris' class at school) as the guitar player and chris as the drummer.
During the first half of the year they basically just covered some songs and started to write our own ones (listen to Logarythmus or The Person, these are songs back from that time). "Things are going well" , they thought, and so they tried to get some shows. Their first one took place around June/Juli and went pretty well. After that they got more and more shows, which spread the word about them a little.
In summer 2005 they decided that it was finally about time that they recorded a demo cd. and so they did in a nice basement studio of a youth club in Kehl. The results can be heard on their homepage / IAC or myspace. They have played some shows after they recorded the demo and everything went on going well, so they thought why not record a full-length cd?
And that is what they are doing right now. They started recording december 05 and the cd should be finished july 06. Most of the parts are done, except for the singing. So check their Myspacepage for any news on the upcoming album.

Okay, i just wanted to check out this feature, since i haven't used it ever since. So yeah, we got a little update on our first full-length (we still don't have a name for it). As already said before i have finished my drum tracks some weeks ago, we recorded the 2nd guitar afterwards, which is now almost finished (still 1 song missing) and are currently recording the bass parts, which is a lot of fun considering our bass player ;).
Well, uhm, i dunno if anyone is ever going to read this, but just in case, at least i did it for me haha.
