About invainno
Long time friends, A. Frigstad and J. Haaland, had long discussed starting a real metal-combo. Both of them were eager to realise their musical visions. A. Frigstad was to handle the vocals, and J. Haaland to take care of the songwriting. Nevertheless they saw the need for one more soul and to complete the unit the guys teamed up with their good friend S. Nedland, who brought along his powerful clean vocals. In Vain saw the break of dawn in the winter of 2003. In may 2004 In Vain entered Ansgar Studio in their hometown Kristiansand. Months later they proudly emerged with their first opus entitled ""Will the Sun Ever Rise”, a three-track EP of unrelenting atmosphere, aggression and complexity. The EP was embraced by metalheads and journalists alike. The following autumn and winter J. Haaland spent his time composing new material, and the band kept a low profile. Summer '05 saw the addition of J. Sehl (bass) as a full time member of the band, enabling In Vain to enter the studio once again, to record their newest conception, an EP entitled ""Wounds"". In November Magnus Olav Tveiten (guitar) joined the band, and in December the band was joined by Stig Reinhardtsen (drums). WOUNDS was realesed in December 2005. The material is more diverse, progressive and dramatic than ever, without sacrifing the brutal edge of its predecessor. Make sure you keep up with the bands activities.
