| started out playing with acid pro cutting up failed Napster downloads...back in the day. Now I actually compose music. Still by ear since I dont "know" how to "write" music per se. I just listen for a sound I like and go from there. When I get something halfway decent, then I ruin it by chopping it up in acid pro, or sticking it in soundforge and altering various elements of it. The mixed piece is then thrown back with the original and..well probably more information than you needed. Basically A4L likes the sound of chaos intruding on order. Sort of a yin and yang sound. Give a listen to Four Tet's "She moves she" sometime. That guitar noise? Yeah..that's the kind of stuff we like. The broken up garbled noise in that one BT hit from not too long ago.. yep. You got it. Now you'll notice if you listen to my stuff it's not nearly so polished, but hell I think that adds to the charm. Besides, all of my stuff is pretty much "in Progress" since it takes bloody forever to compose a full tune and alter it, by ear. Besides "I'm an artist Jim!
