The conception of Forever Lost originated in mid summer of 2002.
Guitarist Derik Smith and drummer Jayson Cessna assembled to refashion a local metal scene that had lost it's vitality. By 2003, the search for a frontman was over as Tom Sturniolo's fierce and gravelly vocals gave breath and persona to the band. Immediately after, the quest for a second guitarist continued and eventually led to like-minded metaller Nate Hamann in 2004. After several unsuccessful months and assorted line up changes, Craig Trimmer would soon take the rightful position on bass. Three years in the making, Forever Lost was at last complete.
With a comprehensive group of innovative musicians and song writers, the band initiated to unify their sound. Taking influences from bands such as Death, Kalmah, Amon Amarth, Children of Bodom, and In Flames, they began to provide their own archetype towards today's melodic death metal. In the winter of 2005, they released a 3 song demo into circulation and began to distribute themselves into the local scene. In the autumn of that same year, Forever Lost entered the studio to record their first official 4 song EP, entitled "Caverns of the Catastrophic," aspiring to be their turning point achievement as of yet. Faced with several delays, the summer of 2006 finally showed promise to be the moment for well-overdue unveiling. The catastrophe is at hand. The frost has fallen.
