Born in the shadow of the people living on the hill, south of the river but north of the sea. Living under a south london sky. Dick is one of 4 brothers who call south london home. Growing up within a stones throw of the river wandle, an open sewer in his childhood, the wimbledon palais haunt of rock n rolling Johnny Kidd, and dreaming, in a bedroom rocked by the main line trains running between Waterloo and the coast, of touching those trains and flying with other peoples dreams to a land of milk and honey. Dick never did fly he got a job and after 27 years grabbed a guitar and started to sing. Passionate, intelligent, angry, happy and sad - South London Folk for people everywhere living in the shadow of the hill.
A London born and based singer songwriter. Singing songs wherever he can Dick has played at London's Troubadour club at 'sessions' nights, and I've supported Billy Franks (www.billyfranks.com) who gave me my first 'stage'.I've also supported and played harmonica for Jon Le Champignon (Ozric Tentacles). On the live circuit Dick collaborates with Justine Barker of Smiling Knife (vox) - the very talented John Black (Keys) whenever, Dave Helmore (mandolin and guitars), Bruce Harman (guitars), Jared Green (percussion and vox)
