Bard of Ely comes from Wales but relocated to Tenerife and is a singer-songwriter with songs in many genres. Bard of Ely has played at Glastonbury Festival on several occasions and was compere for the Avalon Stage in 2002 and 2003, as well as having been a performer and compere at the Green Man Festival.
Bard of Ely's song You're a Liar, Nicky Wire fronted the Taffia EP on Crai Records and also was rave reviewed on the NME singles page as well as being featured on R1's website.
Bard of Ely writes for the Tenerife Sun newspaper and Tenerife News as well as Permaculture Magazine and he is the author of Herbs of the Northern Shaman, described by Howard Marks as ""excellent.""
Bard of Ely has worked as TV presenter for 2 series of In Full View on BBC Choice, as well as having had his songs used on several TV programmes including Channel 5's Family Affairs, which played his song Sound of One.
Bard of Ely is written about in some depth in books by C.J. Stone (Last of the Hippies and Fierce Dancing), Lionel Fanthorpe (The World's Most Mysterious People) and Peter Finch (Real Cardiff).
