Seredina dnya, ( middle of the day ) is a rock band from Moscow which was formed 2001 by Sergey Pasechnik. Previous to this the band had been known as Veter (wind) and had been performing since 1986. The name then changed to Kristobal Khunta after the reorganization of the band at the beginning of the nineties, and the style changed to one of psychedelic rock"". In 1992 the collection of songs Kricto i S was released, and in 1998, the album Solntsa parom. The group broke up in the period between these albums and reassembled with a new line-up. The members who have remained unchanged are solo guitarist Sergey Lyaptsev, bass Alexander Lobanov, and Sergey Pasechnik on guitar and vocals. In 2001 Seredina dnya was formed In August of 2002 the album Gorod v sobstvennom vryemeni ( city in its own time) was recorded which saw the light of day in August of 2003.The promotional video for the song Polnaya Luna (full moon) was filmed by the director Vadim Koshkin (Mango Mango Kalinov Most,and Mister Tvister among others),and received a prize at the Moscow film festival for cinema - STYK. In November 2004 at a joint concert in Moscow, Sergey Pasechnik met with Canadian musician Michael Hockney (Strong Forest) who opened for the band as a special guest It was the dawn of a new joint creativity. Strong Forest is the brainchild of guitarist Michael Hockney (aka Linn Yeung) bringing forth a unique blend of musical talent derived from an extremely diverse multicultural life experience. A guitarist since 1969, Linn yeung began with a classical training and progressed to the octave nuances of 12-string guitar in the late 1970's. A World traveller, over the years the guitarist has experimented with an arsenal of unique instruments and has forged a truly independent and adaptable musical style. Today this encompasses even 11-string fretless techniques. As a soloist the artist has performed from the streets of Amsterdam to intimate coffee lounges and rave venues in Vancouver Island to large underground rock festivals in Taiwan. Innovation and adaptability are quintessential elements to the artist's ever developing and progressive musical style. To be a member of Seredina dnya the guitarist is pushing new envelopes of expression and the evocative Les Paul has now become a part of the new Seredina dnya sound. In June, 2005 Seredina Dnya is signed the contract on an album "" City in own time "" with American company ACM RECORDS. ACM Records, Inc. has serviced the Entertainment Industry for over 20 years. They have worked for some of the top names in the business including Viacom, Paramount, Atlantic Records, Universal Records, Sony, PolyGram, Warner Brothers and MCI WorlCom.
