Overdue by two weeks and in no hurry to arrive to her proud parents, Leland and Theresa, Deirdre Leah Faegre made up for lost time by learning to swim before she could walk at nine months.

Typing at four, with determination and confidence she proceeded to each task and accomplishment with extraordinary grace and style and became a model for others during her developmental years that also included gymnastics and a sudden interest in the piano at age nine.

Her dad's passion for Vangellis' 'To the Unknown Man,' was the inspiration that piqued her interest in playing the piano, but it was her steady cultural diet of John, Paul, George and Ringo that established her direction as a singer/songwriter and musician/arranger.

But not until she received international recognition for her 'Cartwheel Heard 'Round the World' where Deirdre dominated a nearly a week long news cycle in November, 2004 with many appearances on radio and television including Ryan Seacrest, Today and Jimmy Kimmel Live who described her as "...an American Hero," would she be firmly ensconced in her music.

A published singer/songwriter at thirteen, the worldwide release of her infectiously innocent, 'Shining In My Hair,' appearing on an artist compilation CD from AudioSparx entitled, Female Pop - Volume 1, came only 9 months after its debut in Summer, 2006. A collection of female-vocal pop music with a flair, including pop, soft pop, alt pop and Lillith Fair-styled pop music tracks, 'Shining In My Hair' stands out as an endearingly attractive statement of youthful wonder and love of life.

Based in the United Kingdom, Deeper Thought Ltd, a new entry in the coin operated video game industry and creators of amusement content for video games that build on current and popular trends has licensed Deirdre's 'Shining In My Hair' for 'Make Meez A Rockstar!' a music based Flash game. Deeper Thought Ltd specialize in game and system development, game design, programming, hardware design and interface development.

Deirdre's re-released follow-up single, 'In My Eyes' was placed in a short film written and directed by Jack Kearney of [The JAX Company Film Production Group LLC] entitled, 'Indian Hill,' about a 12 year old boy and his friends growing up in suburban Portland, Connecticut, circa 1975. A neighborhood coming of age story about the challenge of conquering 'Indian Hill Road' on a bicycle; a feat that separates the “little kids” from the “big kids” in their neighborhood.

I saw that you came by music is truth. I appreciated your acknowledging the add of the joni mitchell cover. I love the way you intro that song and your fantastic singing and use of the dulcimer , very moving and lovely, indeed you have a wonderful talent
I hope that my comments were not taken too hard on my point of view of the way the orchestration came in, that of course is a personal observation and not to take anything away from the arrangement or the beauty of your singing or your fathers skill in developing the song..I was indicating that to my ears, I found the strings et al detracting from the vocals....I have have you on other stations and will add more

Established in 2011, South Korean startup Wantreez Music partnered with the most popular music identification application company, Shazam, in August, 2016. According to the Korea Times:

"South Korean startup Wantreez Music inked a partnership to get big data from the most popular music identification app company, Shazam…Wantreez Music will receive a huge amount of Shazam's global user search data categorized by region and genre."

"Through the deal, Wantreez Music will receive an average of 20 million user queries a day, which the firm said will help its service of helping stores select music to play. In addition, the firm hopes that K-pop will take a firm root abroad as it will be able to export customized Korean songs after confirming their popularity by region."

On Top Of a Cloud, LLC is pleased to announce the completion of two new licensing agreements from co-publishing relationships with AudioSparx and ProductionTrax in its catalog of work.

AudioSparx, 'a licensing agent, service provider, distributor and publisher of high-quality audio content to clients in film and television production,' has licensed Deirdre Leah Faegre's cover version of John Lennon's 'Across the Universe' to AM French, a filmmaker in the United Kingdom whose feature film, 'Victims of Love' is currently in production.

ProductionTrax, a provider of 'superior-quality music intended for use in multimedia, film, television and interactive media on an on-demand basis,' has licensed Leland Thomas Faegre's 'It Was a Dark and Stormy Night' to Anthony DAndrea, an actor, film director, sound and film editor, and writer known for his work in 'Thrillkill,' 'Prom Night II,' 'Beverly Hills Cop II' and others.

About 'It Was a Dark and Stormy Night:'

"Stripped of its production, its category or genre would have to be 'blues;' but even without the arrangement, I thought the composition was eerie and applicable to themes of fright and horror. Recorded at 63 bpm, the arrangement seeks to capture Frankenstein's gait or walking speed, while the bass guitar primarily gives it heft and force. A powerful cello arrangement with sundry trombones and brass complete the ambience of paranoia."

"Written on piano, my original analog recording included excerpts of the original 'War of the Worlds' radio broadcast which has been the working title for the track for about twenty-five years. Written a decade prior to the 'Roland architecture period' and without any specific external event that I can recall, the composition nonetheless arouses an ambience of fear, and I was only too happy to complete the production."

On Top Of a Cloud, LLC Takes 20% Stake in KTHO

Following several months of discussion that originated last summer, KTHO owner and long-time Southern California broadcaster Darrell Wampler [The Insane Darrell Wayne] has announced that Coyote Grill owner Leland Faegre, has taken a 20% equity stake in KTHO.

“We are always working on the “next big thing” at K-Tahoe. Being associated with Leland and the Coyote Grill gives us an inspired partner and a wonderful opportunity to expand our on-air presence with a live, local enhancement. I am proud of this new teaming arrangement” Wampler said of the venture.

The announcement comes as the Coyote Grill is in the process of rolling out a strategic expansion of its business model to include entertainment, gaming and an array of coffees and espressos as a compliment to its popular restaurant and bar.

"Although familiar with local radio as an advertiser and producer of my own commercials and for the 'Double Trouble Sports Bash,' I had not met Darrell whose career I had followed 40 years ago in Southern California” said Faegre about the purchase.

After several missed opportunities, Faegre was eventually introduced to Wampler by Tahoe Basin radio veteran Bill Kingman who started his career at KPPC in Los Angeles.

"I met Darrell through Bill Kingman, a regular patron and friend of the Coyote Grill. Bill and I loved to talk about the Los Angeles radio market and radio generally and offered to introduce me to Darrell,” said Faegre following the announcement.

Faegre joked that when he finally met ‘The Insane Darrell Wayne,’ he wasn’t nearly as ‘insane’ as his reputation that preceded him, describing the meeting as "long overdue, fateful and as though we had known each other most of our lives which in a way, we had."

"Leland's experience in the music industry, finance and provocative background will be an enormous asset to the growth of our business" said Paul Middlebrook, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of KTHO Radio.

Describing Wampler as “a very impressive and knowledgeable, veteran broadcaster,” Faegre said he had followed Darrell's radio career which included his role as Program Director at KROQ in Southern California after graduating from high school.

"As a musician, I followed radio all my life," said the Coyote Grill owner whose father's career in advertising included Los Angeles area media colossus RKO’s KHJ AM and KRTH FM.

“I loved radio long before my father entered the business,” Faegre recalls. “So when he went into the industry, we always had long conversations about the ever-changing landscape of the Los Angeles area radio market.”

Faegre continued on his introduction with Darrell, “Early on in our discussions, Darrell revealed his interest in developing content for a program of live, local performances and the concept was exactly what I was already planning for the Coyote Grill.”

On Top Of a Cloud has revealed today following correspondence yesterday with Nicole Sanzio, Creative Director and CEO of InDigi Music, that Deirdre Leah Faegre's most recent release, Lennon/McCartney's 'Across the Universe' has been forwarded by InDigi Music c/o Multi Music & Media Group to the producers of 'The Prisoner, ' a modern take on the 1960s British cult television series starring the late great Patrick McGoohan for musical consideration in the reinterpretation of the British 1960s cult hit series.

AMC and ITV have paired up to produce this wildly ambitious six-hour update starring Sir Ian McKellan as Number Two and Jim Caviezel as Number Six and shot on location in Namibia and South Africa. The series will air here in the U.S. in November on AMC, and on ITV in the UK at the start of 2010...

On Top Of a Cloud Owner and Founder, Leland Thomas Faegre who also arranged and produced the Beatles cover, was delighted by the decision. "Even if the music supervisors ultimately decide not to place Deirdre's version of the song in the year-end mini-series, it will not be because it fails to measure up to industry standards for production. Reputable publishers such as InDigi can't waste the time of music supervisors and producers by sending material that is not suited for the project," Faegre said.

"The criteria for music placement and synchronization in visual production is not science," the 55 year-old arranger-composer observed. "More often than not, what appears to be a good fit at first glance can easily be a size too large or too small."

'Across the Universe' was over a year in production at On Top Of a Cloud, Lake Tahoe. Deirdre's fifth single, 'Big Yellow Taxi' is due to be released May 11, 2009.

In May, 2007, Taxi sent 'Novus Ordo Seclorum,' 'Pathetique' and 'Together, Around the Sun,' to 'Munchkin Studios.'  On June 15, 2007 Taxi sent my cover version of the Byrds' 'He Was a Friend of Mine' to 'Picture Tunes Music' and in July, 2007, a compositional montage was sent to 'Video Helper' and 'Together, Around the Sun' was forwarded to 'Marvelous Media.  Taxi sent 'Castles, Canticles and the Cadence of the Celts' to 'Daddy Jack Music,' 'Pipes of Peace' was sent to 'Songs With Vision' for a compilation CD; Novus Ordo Seclorum was forwarded to 'CMH Records' and 'Phantasmagoria' and 'Novus Ordo Seclorum' were sent by Taxi to 'Waymo Music.' 

On August 25, 2008 Taxi sent 'Novus Ordo Seclorum,' 'After You' and 'Ottoman Odyssey' to 'DSM.'  On September 30, 2008, Taxi sent 'Through a Rainbow' to 'Soundrangers' and in October, 2008 sent 'On Top Of a Cloud' and 'Together, Around the Sun' to Austrian Label, 'Domino Musik.'  In November, 2008, Taxi forwarded 'After You' to 'Platinum Music' and 'Serengeti Serenade' to 'MyMusicSource.' 

In December, 2008, Taxi sent 'Serengeti Serenade and 'Ottoman Odyssey' to Domo Music Group and 'Ottoman Odyssey' to 'Platinum Music.'

In January 2009, Taxi forwarded 'Novus Ordo Seclorum' and 'Ottoman Odyssey' to 'ScoreKeepers Music' and on May 27, 2009, Taxi forwarded 'Across the Universe' to 'Konami Digital Entertainment.'  In July, 2009, Taxi forwarded 'A Time For Us' to 'Domino Musik. On August 26, 2009 Taxi sent 'Novus Ordo Seclorum,' 'After You' and 'Ottoman Odyssey' to 'Studio 51' and on September 9, 2009, Taxi forwarded 'After You' and 'Ottoman Odyssey' to Cinematic Soundscapes' bringing the total to one hundred forty-two unique submissions that have now been forwarded to various media libraries and to film and television projects currently in production including MTV... 7/21/2022 8:55:12 AM
