The Teague Stefan Band is a 70’s inspired power trio comprised of accomplished musicians who are redefining the Blues. The band was created in late 2004 by Teague Stefan, the protégé of Chuck (Dr. Blues) Beattie, a North Carolina Blues legend. Teague spent many nights working on his stagecraft and guitar licks, building the foundation of a Blues musician that many see as a fast riser in the scene. In the last year Art McConnell has joined the group on drums, an experienced touring musician, both in the U.S. and overseas, he is a show stealing drummer with a wealth of musical knowledge. Over the summer of 2006 Mike Burney joined the group on bass, another road hardened music veteran, Mike lays the foundation of the grooves with inspired bass lines and an energetic stage show. With the addition of these musicians the group has blossomed, playing benefits for the Orange Blossom Blues society at Hard Rock Universal as well as receiving an invitation to play the coveted Springing the Blues festival in Jacksonville Beach, spring 2007. The songwriting of Teague Stefan has benefited from such gifted musical talent surrounding him. It has become a mix of traditional Blues and classic rock pushing their limits musically as well as vocally all the while trying to add new twists to standard Blues. The future of the group appears bright, they work hard night in and night out to build upon their reputation as a “must see” live act.
