"Darren was shot defending the love of his life in Tanzania 30 June 2008. He had been in Arusha for 18 months building a sustainable childrens village for the charity FWS.. which he and Rebecka are founding members.
we love you Darren, may your music immortalise you."
Jay Stratti
Darren spent 4 years playing around Sydney with his 2 brothers Danny and Jay in their band ""Stratti"" (http://www.stratti.com) Tracks Magazine gave Stratti a good rap for their debut album 'being human', which was recorded live within their first year of performing. 'Catchy ... inspires and moves with beautiful acoustic melodies'. ..refreshing to hear lyrics that are meaningful and relevant... 4 stars!! (review by http://www.tracksmag.com 2005) 'Being human' has also been reviewed as 'excellent' by various community radio stations nationally with Sydney's FBI invited the boys in for a chat, laugh and performance on their lyricism show. Stratti has headed some of Sydney most prestigious roots venues such as Sandringham Newtown, Transit Lounge at the Metro, Vic on the Park and the Hard Rock Cafe. Stratti have also been involved in organising fund raising activities on behalf of the Surfrider Foundation Australia. Darren is completing the recording of his first solo album. A sample song was selected to be one of Fbi's november feature artist. His current style reflects the work of John Frusciante, Eddie Vedder and the Hunters & Collectors. Entitled ""Steady"", it will be available in Feb 2007. A five song sampler will be available in december 2006. Darren was fortunate enough to have Danny Heifetz of Mr Bungle play drums on this album.

Darren Stratti was killed working in Tanzania on the 30th June 2008. He was constructing a children's village that was near completion.
His music legacy is a gift from a beautiful man that gave greatly and keeps on giving in his passing.
I love you brother.
