Three boys met at Dog House Music's rock'n roll camp the summer of '06 and the rest is (going to be) history. Allen Cooke (guitar master) and Francis Donnelly (stick buster) had already been jamming together as classmates, developing their unique style of ""new"" old-school rock. They hooked up with Dylan McCarthy (gravelly crooner) the first week at DHM and there was an immediate chemistry between the three long-haired musicians. Although they weren't paired up the rest of the summer, come Fall they decided to keep playing together and thus White As Night was born. The band debuted at Boulder CO's Fox Theater (not a shabby place to start out) and have been gigging around the Denver/Boulder area ever since.
Heavily influenced by the rock greats (Zeppelin, Hendrix, Sabbath, The Doors etc...) as well as newcomers Rose Hill Drive, these boys get your body going with their bone rattlin' sound while they stroke your brain and soul with their intricate, original compositions. Trademarks of the band are Allen's jaw-dropping solos (this kid knows his way up, down and around a guitar like nobody's business), Francis' in-your-face drum beats (his skins have a few blood stains on them to attest to his intensity) and Dylan's deep bellowing vocals while he keeps the underlying beat that has everyone's head bobbing from start to finish (and if you have a pulse your head is whippin' by the end!)
The band had the opportunity to work at Coupe Studios, Boulder's premier recording studio, to lay down their first demo (see audio files.) In less than a year together they've played all over the Boulder area, and everywhere they go more seasoned bands are blown away by their young talent (one bassist even threatened suicide after finding out the boys were a mere 14 years old.) This is a band that people are going to be able to say ""I saw them when ....""!
