Formed in 2006 in Takoma Park, MD, the Silver Lights infuse infectious popular rock and luminous Hip Hop while maintaining a reflective view of life through music.
What sets the band apart as performers and recording artists is the synergy created by its members, who come from backgrounds as hip-hop beat producers, rock musicians, and classically trained pianists. As a result, audiences are often surprised at the breadth of genres the band is able to bring to their highly original musical approach and energetic live show. Their accessible mix of rock instrumentation, hip-hop rhythm, and introspective lyrics could become the new defining sound of Washington DC.
The Silver Lights began as a production team, combining programmed Hip-Hop beats with various live instruments. After completing their first album, the band members focused their efforts on translating their productions into live performance. By the end of the summer of ’07, they had solidified their stage act and played at various venues in the DC area including Santa Fe Café, The Grog and Tankard, and 8x10. On August 9th the Silver Lights played a Save Darfur benefit concert at State Theater in Falls Church, opening for Guru’s Jazzmatazz.

Any Place
A bouncy blend of beatles sounding singing with passionate, lyrical rapping over a smooth electric guitar and piano. An energetic rhythm section to top it off.
