Forming in 2005 for a university band competition Brisbane band THE JUICE DEBACLE quickly made a splash on the local scene after winning a spot in the competition final. A string of gigs helped spread their fanbase as the band continued to practice and write exciting new material along the way. Battling pressures from the real world, TJD struggled on, playing at venues such as The Alley Bar, The Red Room, The Calypso Bar, Gilhooneys and The Uni of Qld, picking up fans along the way. Mid 2007 saw the band jump into the recording studio to record their first EP, "CHOP IT UP, CHALK IT DOWN". Recorded at Nasty Studios, where Brisbane rock legend REGURGITATOR recorded. The EP is a fresh sound with beautiful musical stylings. Blending many genres into a coherent sound that is distinctly THE JUICE DEBACLE, this is a masterful album. CHOP IT UP, CHALK IT DOWN creates musical diaromas of poetic intoxication, bringing the listener to the brink, and then simply shoving them off.
