Wendy Jans is an independently-produced artist with a soul-pop sound reminiscent of Colbie Caillat and jazz-tinged vocals often likened to Norah Jones, yet with a voice and unique style that cannot be readily defined. Striving to exemplify the independent artist, Wendy wrote and co-produced her first album “Today”, as well as creating the album artwork and writing 11 of the 12 tracks. Likewise, In June 2009, Wendy released her newest album "Simple as a Song", which she also wrote and this time, co-produced with up-and-coming Nashville producer Chad Carlson, who engineered albums by Taylor Swift, Trisha Yearwood and Chris Isaak. Wendy has garnered attention from the songwriting community as winner of the River Bluff Performing Songwriting Competition, a finalist in the International Song Search, winner of the Trowbridge Symposium and has received honorable mentions in the Billboard World Song Contest and Nashville Song Search. In the summer of 2008, Wendy was commissioned to write a theme song, which she titled “I Love This Town”, for a rural revitalization campaign presented by the Federal Home Loan Bank and Capital Communities. Wendy has received radio play in Nashville’s Lightening 100fm, XM satellite radio, various internet radio as well as Nashville’s Public Radio.
