The live band has been forging it’s reputation in the UK, Europe, including the Ukraine, and playing the album in it’s entirety. The band will spend the rest of 2008 promoting it.
Ben Cooper is a singer songwriter/multi-instrumentalist that has been writing and releasing material since the 80's. The songs he has written have appeared on records that have had huge cult success. Some of these records are now considered classics.
Ben made his first tentative step to solo recognition on Myspace. He initially uploaded 4 songs to test the water. He needn’t have worried the reaction was hugely enthusiastic and gave Ben incentive to record a whole album. Because of all of this Ben was able to secure airplay on many radio stations worldwide and get magazine coverage. All of this before the deal with Cherry Red was even signed, or a gig played.
Ben started out drumming for British Neo' Rockabilly legends RESTLESS. He
went around the world with the band he formed making many records, and playing
lots of prestigious venues along the way.
In the 80’s Restless built their reputation by playing major supports with the Clash, the Dammed, and the Ramones. Huge cult status beckoned and the band would regularly pull large crowds of their own in the UK, and around the world. There were also TV/Radio appearances, and high indie chart placings’. One of Ben's songs had one of the highest chart positions out of any of the bands singles.
Ben was asked to rejoin Restless for a reunion tour in 2002 initially for a year. The band continued for the next 4 years due to high demand playing festivals around the world. Highlights included touring with Rock'n'Roll legend Little Richard, and playing with rock god Robert Plant.
