LOW RECTANGLE EP (Released on 1st August on Beatport)

1. Low Rectangle
The first track, Low Rectangle, finds us in a strange underworld of sound, with a feel that is organic, cinematic and austere. The precise, crisp drums fizz and click alongside the bass which underpins an evocative almost bell like melody. The arrangement subtly twists and turns until the final 3rd of the track when after a deafening silence the bass drops back in sounding like its punching it way out of an airlock.

2. Off and Gone
A hypnotic descending melody starts this off and as the tension rises and falls, it modulates into a lush swirling wall of sound which makes the track as uplifting as it is danceable.

3. Velodrome
Velodrome is the Alpha male of this package and is an exceptionally DJ friendly track. Crisp punchy drums and a subatomic bassline loop and grind putting bass bins in danger as the low end lunges ever deeper. A rhythmic vocal stab gives the arrangement verve and dynamics.

Biography
Chris Lyth has been producing electronic music for over 15 years. He co-founded labels Advance & Sensei, releasing & remixing tracks on both labels & on many compilations. After several successful years he left the labels & after a bit of a break, started producing under the name Mecanique putting out tracks on Plastic City, Toolroom Trax, District of Corruption (Berlin) & Slave Recordings which gained him support from the likes of John Acquaviva, Josh Wink, Ashley Beedle, Sunshine Jones, Marcin Czubala, Ben Watt, Colin Dale, Alex Flatner, Rob Pearson, Nic Fancuilli & John Digweed.

Jacksonville is his latest project & has only been up & running for around 6 months. He has forthcoming releases on Plastic City, Evasive, Rebel Audio Recordings & Beatlejuice.
