In the Summer of 2008, Leonard began recording some of his songs. He had already played music for a long time and had already been involved in many bands before, but never his own songs featuring his own lyrics. So, the recordings became the five song EP called “Time” which Leonard printed and released himself. The “Time” EP was limited to just 100 copies. Recording took place in his one room apartment in Göteborg, Sweden. Playing drums, guitar and of course providing vocals for the EP, Leonard asked some friends to help out with additional instrumentation. After finishing, he put the songs on Myspace which in turn were received with overwhelming praise. Soon after, a few magazines and student radio stations were singing praises as well..
In June of 2008 Leonard was contacted by the Florida based label feels like home records. Together they decided on releasing a full length album. Focus was on the new record and full band which finally came to be known as Leonard Kaage & The Kin. Between the release of the “Time” EP and the recording and upcoming release of the full length, Leonard played an 8 gig UK tour as well as playing locally in Göteborg. Leonard Kaage & The Kin have just released a video and are currently working on a tour of Germany and the USA.
The self-titled full length album was released in the USA in Septemebr2009, with a Swedish release slated for October 31st.
