The Magic of Zeeza-by Zeeza love

Love is my Energy Machine

To fully understand Zeeza, the *Zeeza concepts* and Zeeza Love, you should know what this thing called *me* is. Yes I do have my private normal life in the country with my familly, 2 wolf dogs, one black cat and a cottage by a big healthy swamp and a forest for a back yard. This is my joyfull existance. As holistic non practicing midwife and follower the wise woman traditions, I love nature and the nature of life. I personally don't think of myself as a *star* in the ego sense because creativity and art are a manifestation of something bigger then me, bigger then Zeeza. I just let it happen and that is the way art should be. My hundreds of pictures are art and not just shots of my face for publicity, they show and emotion a feeling from within. I don't take myself seriously when it comes to letting out my song words, music, rants, visual art, prodduction and everything else I do which comes from the muse. I never expect everyone to love all of my songs since they
reflect the listeners own interpretations of them and not mine. Being a *star* has its heavy responsibilities and I live my artistic endevors in a responsible way. I beleive in Karma of the muse and for this reason I do no harm and love is my
energy machine.

I make my own herbal healing beers and medicinal tinctures and salves. I have respect for all spiritualites and prefer my own ofcourse which I have developed in my life. I am a nonpracticing holistic Midwife, Visual Artist, music producer, songwriter and musician. I have been called a Rock Star by many but I do many kinds of music both in French and English and invented languages. I have studied Physics, phychology, physiology and still read many books per year on healing.

Zeeza was one of the founders of 1 sound.com a site for artist in the early 2000, doing radio shows and art amongs other artist things. I like to think of myself as a cartoon in a world of comic books since I have over 500 promotional pictures of Zeeza. Cheerful is mostly my usual state of being, I love mirors, glitter, intense colors, lights and crystals. I am a tree hugger and a swamp protector. I chant from within when the moon is full, thats the way that I am. My favorite clothing store is Arden. I love almost everything they sell. My other favorite store is used clothing stores of all kinds. My favorite personal music is dance with a touch of tribal, arabic, rock, blues, reggae, country and electronic. basically anything which rocks me underneith my skin, no matter what part of the Universe it comes from. Zeeza is ruled by Venus and Mayan's *Red Magnetic Snake*, another very strong sign which hold enormous potentials and responsibility especially now with the changing world. Zeeza is bound to Earthly spiritualities on the edge of the life spiral and within the tree of life.

I have written many songs and have made over 150 songs public and given many mp3s away free since the late 90s, some of which have won awards world wide (songs lyrics, music and vocal arts). I have recorded with a few major Artists, one known as Harvey Snake Mandel, now touring with the band Canned Heat. I jumped on stage with The Chicago Blues Reunion Band a few years ago to meet my favorite guitar God Harvey Snake Mandel at last and the band members at the Ottawa Blues Festival.(Buried Alive IN THe Blues Show) It was thrill to personally meet all of those Chicago Blues Legends, encluding Harvey Snake Mandel, one Heck of a great God of electric guitar.

*Zeeza* is pure creativity in its simplest honest form and comes from outside of me. Zeeza is a cartoon,a manga, a female transformer a ferry, a Rock Star, a Lusty Jazz femme, a French Chanteuse, funky chick,a folky, country Elly-May hillbilly gal, a Blues Mama and everything inbetween from Childrens songs to Pagan ritual music, electronic and sweet traditional swing. It just comes out of me and this is Zeeza. Nicheless and going up and down like a colorfull glittering roller coaster ride.

Alas,Zeeza (Zeeza Love), I, the *Artist Known as *Zeeza*"" is back to silently return from the dust,at first though perhaps repressed due to the changing times but nevertheless enchanted still. After doing other more important things for 7 years I am returning for a whispered breeze of love from others and to give others the same of me. I have stayed off computers and internet for all of this time in order to clean up and live up, play live and get away from digital infactuations. This time wiser in spirit.

My goal is to give more music away to influence and inspire once again and also to heal and show love to the human race. A holistic gift from the muse of Zeeza. 7 years ago, (The perfect circle of Venus) I had become somewhat well known on the internet, with a large fanbase and some say a large cult following. At MP3.com, the central and largest website for independent artists, *Zeeza*was named one of the Top Alternative Artists page, with art pictures and free mp3s in 1999, and have had 11 number one songs that year. Only 2 Canadians were singled out for special honors by MP3.com that year, and the coverage of Zeeza in the Canadian press and midstream radio has been very limited due to all the time I’ve devoted to building my online audience, Still the songs of Zeeza managed to get more re\adio play that I had ever imagined, not to mention recording 3 CDs in a fairly short period. (this is called being on a *roll*) All done with primitive digital components and at a time when the internet was very free, wild and new.

Zeeza LOve has recorded a CD with the legendary guitarist and producer Harvey “the Snake” Mandel, from the popular 70s Band ""Canned Heat"", who also recorded with the Rolling Stones in the 70s. You've herd him with The Rolling Stones, Canned Heat and many others. A pioneer of modern electric blues from Chicago, Harvey Mandel developed and mastered sustain and controlled feedback, displaying both extroversion and musical virtuosity. He has performed with many blues legends including Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Otis Rush, Albert King, and Buddy Guy. One of Mandel's most significant session credits was his participation on Black and Blue, the 1976 LP from The Rolling Stones. Harvey does this Effortless sustain, multi-string bends, a slightly distorted tone always bordering on feedback, herky-jerky stuttering phrases balanced with long, melodic line. In Zeeza's own words: ""I know for fact that making music with Harvey is the most exiting thing that has ever happened to me in music so far. He is one heck of a good producer as well as an awesome musician. He does it all and I like that ""
In the late 90s Zeeza also had a popular music video on Nerve t.v. (Basement Videos) and NBC. WE thank Sonic Foundry for sponsoring tone of the first if not the first online digital recording project.Sonic Foundry now owned by Soni.

The new Zeeza inspirations which are soon to be recorded and exposed to the woild, are rocky, young and sometimes vibrantly digital, native, arabic, tribal and bubble gumish mixed with more healing textures. As in the healings of needs of the early Zeeza songs, these new ones might hop away the most hard core dance fans*. Tear jurking muse helps to heal and clear the way for the joy of laughter and light fearless glee and hard dance make people live up to that wonder of health and joyfull movement. Human love emotion is my energy. One must cry it out before one can feel joy and love. I am now making happy and mystical music of dance of all kinds, more singing in tongue and lots of wild attitudes. This is a change from the early acoustic pureness of guitar and vocals. At that time I was also using an intense collection of digital sounds and imbeded spontaneous magical breathings.

The well deserved and needed time away from the digital world gave me more inspiration energy, more
understanding of love, more spunk and perhaps even wiser in many worlds. Just in time for end times and the begining of another time and so on. I am not fearfull of earth and all of its natural cycles ( this particular one is ending soon and another will come forth. (I intend to live forever.) This is a time for dancing! and joy!

I have been style copied many times by other well known Artists who have been influenced by Zeeza. I don't hold a grudge and as a mater of fact it is quite impressive in a certain way, the glory is above and beyond me. There isnt much I can do about it and Karma will roll around for us all and do its thing. I enjoy making music and that, has not changed. I can only be myself, and there is only one unique Zeeza, the real Artist known as Zeeza and forever this will be the one and very only Zeeza of all times.

Although there are many using my name for the purpose of making money, I am not associated with any business named Zeeza on the internet other then the Artist Known as Zeeza, started in the year 1997.The name Zeeza, the artist, the style and the songs of the Artist known as Zeeza and Zeeza love is *the* one and only Zeeza.

So while I dust off my recording equipment, and get back to recording more Zeeza love, let there be joy to the worlds! I am feeling another roll and just in time for the end of the world as we know it!
Let the wolf dogs howl! The One and Only is back!

Joy to everyone!

So Mote It Be 12/7/2000

tHE one, the only *Zeeza* Love

*Any producer can reach me on this site for sharing ideas to make back up tracks for baladi arabic and native dance music with a buzz and tribal feel which I can record my vocals and melody compositons. I will review them all.

:Year 2000:

""Everybody says it's so predictable when I talk about Zeeza. People say I don't support other artists, when it's pretty obvious that I almost live to spread the word about the one independent artist that moves me. Well, I happen to think I have more credibility than most, and it certainly wasn't predictable AT ALL to those who know me that I would devote myself to the cause of another artist. C'mon, I'm not all over the bbs kissing everyone's ass whose song I happen to have listened to. Hmm. Well, it occurred to me today that someday, maybe very soon, people are gonna be saying I'm a genius for spotting this amazing essence of talent and not being afraid to say so, under ridiculous conditions where everybody is so phony and jaded about their friends' talent that not only do so few ever dare to admit that a song does nothing for them, but even sadder, so few even believe in the concept of greatness anymore. Just look at the constant ridicule I've taken for wanting to let people know about her. Why ? Because it's all just a game for you ? Well, it's not for me.
What got you into music in the first place ? For me it was waiting for my mom to come home Friday from town to see which 45s, from the list I gave her, she was able to find for me. Man, Friday was a great fuckin' day in my house, I would play those babies over and over and over. I feel that way sometimes when I can tell by Zeeza's reaction that she is excited about a song. I just know the goods are coming my way. I had to end this issue talking about this, because I am lucky enough to get a closeup view of something extraordinary. This week alone, she's recorded 2 excellent versions of Away in a Manger, a great version of House of the Rising Sun, and if that wasn't enough, wrote and recorded 2 MORE SONGS IN THE LAST 2 DAYS. She wired the first one to me 2 nights ago, was sort of a raw rockabilly type song, very cool, oh the purity of that voice. Did a great job recording it too. I have to laugh. I hang out at a couple wannabe producer bbs and half the people who post there are afraid to let you hear a single song. They're always telling me how I should not put out so many songs, should wait til blah blah blah. That wait is your weight, not mine. I present to you, without any fucking apologies, my inspiration, and her name begins with a Z. Never could anyone possibly influence my musical life more than she already has. What the Beatles did for my love of music, she did for my understanding of what it is to truly be an artist, and watching Zeeza in action has shattered all pretenses I ever had about how I was going to present my music, before I encountered her. You can't overthink the creative process, you must set yourself free, and she is a river flowing, from her soul, to her mp3.com page, to mine and your ears. I said to her this week, after seeing yet another one of her pictures that could be somebody else altogether, that she must be 50 people in one - such a live nerve of angst and power, who also delicately produces these songs that seemingly pop out of nowhere. And a voice so undescribable, if you are open enough to let yourself absorb it and get lost in it, well, it doesn't even seem to belong to her. But there she is, in her complexity, for you to witness - the multi-angles and reflections of someone who has just made a direct link from her psyche to all of us who are alert enough to observe. And, in her simplicity, a voice, a guitar, a song, a click of the mouse. Can't any of you see that this is what it's all about ? The joy of making the music and getting it done and giving of yourself and showing the world.""

"" In my honest opinion, being a true fan of industrial metal and Techno(electronica), I do find myself listening to other forms of music. MP3.com Review
Rod Underhill, mp3.com Music Director, l999

I've been contemplating the artist known simply as ""Zeeza."" As I recall, I selected one of her tracks for Song of the Day a few months ago. Good call, that. Zeeza has produced a rich collection of songs crossing various genres. All in all, I'd say that she has a natural flair for jazz and modern folk influenced Pop. As I have a penchant for the blues myself, I am also very fond of her work in that area. Zeeza obviously is very hard working and has her eye on success. A lot of thought has gone into her MP3.com artist page which amounts to an admirable example of her ability to exploit resources that come her way. The quality of her voice is quite pleasing. Her music is the sort of thing that you could play during a relaxing evening and simply let if flow over you while you sat back and enjoyed a glass of wine and a warm fire. Zeeza is also very generousgiving oodles of free MP3s away to her fans. Four DAM CDs are available, though, and I recommend them all. Jazzy, breezy, and enjoyable. Take a listen and see what you think. If you haven't discovered Zeeza's music, I suspect that you will find yourself completely enchanted

written by ""Father Time who publishes an online music newsletter called “The Times”, which goes into more detail about the so-called buzz about Zeeza:

""I have been delving deeply into her lyrics, and I have come to realize that she is one phenomenal poet. I've seen lines of lyrics she's just thrown away that will make me think for days. I only ..wish I had the innate grasp of the English language that she does, and so effortlessly. And this, her second tongue even. My god, I know some of you ""get"" her, but the rest of you, if you haven't stepped back and really listened to what's going on, the way her words just lay it all on the line, yet leave you a different person when it's over, you just don't know what kind of powerful musical presence we all have here right under our noses.""

In the last year, the online music scene has really exploded, and one of the biggest up-and-coming acts on the internet is the soulful self-produced singer-songwriter known as Zeeza. At the hub of indie music, MP3.com, she has achieved near-legendary status with 11 Number One songs, and she is clearly the most talked about female artist in that whole giant community. Because of the uncompromising emotional honesty of her lyrics, and the complete Zeeza experience which includes controversial art and writings, her mystique has been the subject of numerous songs by other artists, including one about her being Queen of MP3.com that reached # 2 on the charts. Her real power though comes from that sweet sensual bluesy voice, which has the 3D effect of leaving the listeners feeling like she's singing her songs directly to them. Zeeza's songs are tuneful and timeless, yet quite diverse, sung with that voice of an angel that will melt you slowly, the words teaching you, teasing you about the complexities of love.

Her last video, for her mega-hit song You're Always Trying to Numb Me, reached Number One Most Downloaded Video at Xoom.com and is now showing on Nerve T.V. (basement videos). She has 4 Top-selling CDs, and is currently in the process of recording one with guitarist Harvey ""the Snake"" Mandel, guitarist of Canned Heat, who also played with the Rolling Stones,Santana and many more . In the near future, Zeeza is getting ready to embark on a series of concert dates to play for the first time live some of her recent hit songs, including the elegant ballad T'aime Trop, which did a number of stints at Number One, and the raucous bayou seduction song, I'd Do You. It's only a matter of time until everyone finds out what the internet music community already knows about. Zeeza will lure you into her mystical music world of love and longing, seduction and spirituality, and you won't want to leave any time soon.

Two different ""things,"" Zeeza and Harvey. If you are a guitarist, you know how brilliant Harvey Mandel is. If you are a singer, you know how brilliant Zeeza is. If you are a fan of taste, you know how brilliant both of them are. I'm very proud to call Zeeza a friend, and very proud to have Harvey Mandel on 1sound.com

Review

""Intelligent, resourceful, talented, playful, witty, beautiful, sexy, and a joy to know. Zeeza has more talent than self-esteem though... she will always be her hardest critic. She is filled with passion and love for music, but is less satisfied in ""day-to-day"" life. She exists in her music as a bright ray of light, shining upon all that listen to her angelic vocals. MP3 would have far less personality, spirit, playfulness, and interest... and yes, far, far less talent without her....she deserves to have complete happiness and that there are those out there that feel the same way. Zeeza's friends are fortunate to know her. But that's just my truth; we must all choose our own truths.""
