In an ever-changing Pop music industry, some may say you must adapt to be successful. In the case of Eric V, he intends to bring his own unique style to the “Pop” game. Gone are the days of smooth melodies and sultry ballads. In is the new age of vocal “steroids”. Pop music has entered an era of auto-tune mania and almost all have jumped the bandwagon, leaving little uniqueness in the voices of the artists.
Raised around music his entire life by being part of a musical family, Eric V brings a style of the new and the old. Though he may be influenced by today’s music, he leans on the influences he grew up listening to. He draws his inspiration from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Babyface, Boys II Men, Shai, Craig David, Al Green and his idol Michael Jackson, just to name a few.
Recently signed to Axyal Node LLC, Eric V is currently recording his debut album entitled, Turning Point. His first single from the album, entitled “Sweet Escape”, shows a glimpse of the heart and soul, Eric V hopes to bring back to Pop music. His goal is to allow the listeners to hear intimate stories about his life, in hopes they can relate and also draw inspiration from him in the same way artists from the past were catalyst to his musical growth. His debut project, Turning Point is scheduled to be released in early 2010, but singles from the album will be released throughout the rest of this year.
With the passing of legend, Michael Jackson, also died one of the last soulful pop music artists; an artist who sang with meaning, heart and passion. Eric V intends to be the vehicle for the return of meaningful pop music, in honor of his mentor and idol….the King of Pop. Stay tuned…
