Khalea Lynee is a singer and songwriter at heart and has been for the majority of her life. Her love for music started at a young age and was expressed first in the church, and then abroad as she grew older. Khalea wrote her very first song at the tender young age of 12, and from that moment on, knew exactly what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. Khalea was encouraged to sing in front of large crowds of people, as her mother was the pastor of a church and would force her to do so on Sunday mornings. Nervous and shy at first, she eventually began to break out of her shell and began to think of the stage as her comfort zone. She continued to write songs from the heart and was able to conquer her fears and sing them on stage. Khalea sang at numerous events during her time in high school, was a part of several chorus groups and choirs in high school as well as in college, and later became a member of her older brother's band. The band, 'Julian's Experience', took Khalea's talent on the road as they travelled to many different cities and states performing in various types of venues and settings.
Over the years Khalea has been working and searching for doors of opportunity that would allow her to showcase her talents to the world. While continuing to groom her songwriting and performing skills, Khalea recently connected with DIGGZTOWN producer DIGGZ, and immediately made a musical connection. Khalea and DIGGZ are currently working on several projects to include the DIGGZTOWN Vol. 1 Compilation CD, where Khalea will be featured on 2 tracks, along with an EP project which will be released later on in the year. She has recently released the first single off of this compilation entitled, “I Know” (prod. By DIGGZ)
She has a great desire to share her gift of song with the world, and will not stop until her dreams become a reality.
In her own expression of what her music means to her, Khalea states:
“I don't like to place a box around my style of music and call it R&B or Hip Hop; I prefer to just call it 'music that reaches people.' I want every song I sing to have a message in it that others can relate to. I am original and have no desire to sound like anyone else. I want my songs to make people feel good, and for listeners to retrieve a positive message that lifts them up and helps them make it through the day. To me, being an artist isn't just about making money and becoming famous; it's about touching people in a way that positively affects their lives. Music is everything to me and that's why I believe my music should be shared with the world. This is only the beginning for me...the best is yet to come.”
