Robert Louis has been around music and musicians all his life, but it wasn't until 2005 when he was laid off from his factory job that he started to to take his own music more seriously. With the help of of Pure Flavor guitarist, Brian Coogan, the music on Louis's CD, ""This Ain't Nowhere"" was brought to light and is the result of those days of sitting around the house collecting unemployment. ""I wasn't really trying to make a 'country' album"" says Robert, ""but I had an idea of what I wanted it to sound like and Brian was a big help in making it happen. I'm a big fan of music in general and I try to make music that I would be interested in hearing, and hopefully others are interested also"". Robert Louis says guys like Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson have been an influence on him just as much as Ozzy and Jim Morrison have been. But Louis has created a sound all his own that is beautifully sad and rebellious, but bursting with real life emotion. “The characters in my songs are a conglomeration of people that I have known throughout my life, the stories might be fictional, but the emotion and the character types are real.” This is what makes “This Ain’t Nowhere” so attractive. “I’m very proud of it.” Says Louis, ""It’s everything and more that I wanted it to be.”
