Danny Ray Hubbard is a native Californian who moved to Seattle, Washington in December of 2003 to become an important fixture in the Emerald City's rich music culture. Having started his career in Hollywood, California as a humble background vocalist and musical arranger with The Jimmy Jules Trio in the early 1980s, Hubbard has long sought to fuse West Coast jazz, Native American music (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_American_music), and hip-hop, with gospel. Hence, his expansive experimentation has lead to numerous projects and collaborationsincluding recording sessions with the likes of the late, great Seattle jazz vocalist Douglas Taylor (1959-2010), award winning guitarist Mark Holmes, Native-American jazz vocalist Indian Sheri, Seattle saxophonist David Blanks, The 148th Street Gospel-Jazz Players, and hip-hop mega stars Rise & Concise (http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=119772&content=music&songcount=88&offset=0¤tPage=3) and Man of God.
Though known primarily for his rich vocal tenor and awe-inspiring lyrics, Hubbard is actually somewhat of a Renaissance Man. He is not only regarded by the industry as a fine singer, arranger, songwriter, composer, producer, audio mastering engineer, and musician (piano, keyboards, organ, harmonica, percussion); he also happens to be the executive editor of A Voice in the Wilderness Magazine (a publication which focuses on the Christian-Hebrew life-style) and a highly successful published author with several books (http://www.publishamerica.net/product49085.html) of poetry, belles letters, and many critically acclaimed essays, including his famous ""Harlem Renaissance Resurrected"" (http://www.barnesandnoble.com/c/daniel-r.-hubbard) to his credit.
As founder and President of Harvest Tyme Productions and Upper Room Records (http://www.facebook.com/Dannyray33?sk=app_106171216118819), Hubbard is well on his way to becoming one of the great icons of American music.
