Shipping News has been a band since the Fall of 1996. They released their first record, Save Everything in September of 1997, and a split EP with the band MetroSchifter soon followed. Very Soon, and in Pleasant Company, their second album, was released January 2001.

After finishing a series of limited edition EP’s in 2001 and 2002 (Carrier, Sickening Bridge, Variegated) they assembled them into a double album called Three-Four, released February 2003. Three-Four received many kind words and a few harsh rebuttals.

Shipping News have toured the US and Europe extensively over the last 7 years. They recently traveled to lovely Cortil-Wodon, Belgium to play the RHAAA Lovely Festival (March 2004) and Camber Sands, England (April 2002) to perform at the ALL TOMORROW'S PARTIES Festival. The Shipping News released Flies the Fields this Spring.
