Jay Tavarez formerly known as "Jay D" was born "Danny J Luna Tavarez" to Dominican parents in Manhattan, New York. They moved to Dominican Republic before he could turn one year old and lived there until he was 9. He has been living in Miami, FL ever since. He started making music at the young age of 12 with a basic laptop and started writing his own songs at the age of 15 and before he was 18, he had completed over 150 instrumentals and over 80 original songs that were unreleased. Jay D stopped making music for over a year for personal issues but came back in the summer of 2017 with new music and 2 mixtapes before summer of 2018. On June of 2018 he transitioned from English Rap to Spanish Trap and also recreated his name and image with a new stage name, Jay Tavarez, and along came a spanish mixtape shortly thereafter. Jay has been consistently dropping a song every month since November of 2018 and will continue to until September 2019 when his album "Rey Del Trap" will be released.
