The band formed around singer Alan, once he and guitarist Paul, demoed some songs in the studio. After months of auditioning musicians the current line up was finalised at the end of 2004. This line up went straight into the studio to record their first demo 'Songs for sore eyes', to enable the band to start booking gigs. They have just finished recording a three track CD 'Growing Younger Every Day', extracts from a recent review say 'should satisfy your ears and stereos playing it... Elements of Crowded House to The Coral to Ocean Colour Scene can be heard ... well executed ... and pretty catchy'.
Sweet Tin Hoax play classic indie/pop with attitude. Drawing on all the band members’ influences, from Led Zeppelin to The Band via Crowded House and Radiohead. Sweet Tin Hoax’s objective is to write melodic songs, that people will be singing as they leave the gigs. The promoter at the famous Dublin Castle in London says 'As formulated by the priceless yet undervalued Teenage Fan Club. STH take Neil Young's droll tumbleweed rock up a charming if slightly grubby British Pop alley... Lovely doings'.
Their debut gig in September 2004 was at the Festival for Emma in Liscombe Park, Bedfordshire, supporting Finlay Quaye and Osibisa, amongst others and they have just played three festivals in the summer of 2005 - they alsoplay regularly in London and surrounding areas.
