Bio of Murderhole



If you were to ask any member of Murderhole what they sound like their answer would be “Murderhole!” This is a band that is truly a product of the decades of heavy metal that precedes them. Murderhole draws influence from several sub genres of Metal that each have their own unique attributes, they blend these influences with their ambitious creativity to create their own unique style and distinct sound that can only be Murderhole.
Originally formed in 2001 by singer, Mike DeFilippo and drummer, Ernesto Gencarelli it took some time to find the right people for the job, the details of this are neither exciting nor are they pleasant. About a year later, guitarist Aaron Jacobson joined the band. They had performed under a couple names until finally they found the suitable and untaken name “Murderhole.” This isn’t just a name that sounds cool; it’s a name that the band believes describes the world we live in.
Murderhole recorded their first demo, Bound in Chains, in the summer of 2003 under the name Faceless. Since then, after hard work and dedication, Murderhole has shaped their music into a more extreme and brutal sound. As the band and members matured the subject matter changed from high school drama to more focused subjects of humanity. Such songs as Bound in Chains and Never Fade are all that remains of the bands younger years.
In early 2005 Murderhole invited Paul Lema to take up a second guitar in the band and for a time Mike played bass along with singing while the band searched for a new bassist. In the summer of 2005 the band asked Chris Palmiere to play bass and for the first time Murderhole took the stage as a five-piece band. With the new lineup and a new attitude the band recorded a demo in November of 2005 that far surpassed the last. Recording 2 new songs and a revamped version of the song “Bound in Chains.”
Now armed with a new lineup and more and more new music, Murderhole is planning to play out as much as possible and they plan on working towards a full-length album in the near future. More to come, this has only just begun.
