SHAOLIN:
Drew Millward: Vox, Guitars
Becky Price: Bass, Vox
Ross Millward: Drums
Rising from the ashes of renowned local bands Loudspeaker Paradox and Explicit Content, SHAOLIN is quickly becoming one of the most talked about young bands on the Redditch live music scene. Driven by the immense power of some of the most hum-able riffs you could hope to come across and frontman Drew Millward’s earnest and sincere lyrics, SHAOLIN possesses a sound reminiscent of Nirvana at their peak but with an originality and maturity belying their tender age. Cutting their teeth supporting the likes of KEIKO and FALLEN GROUND over the Winter of 2004/5, their confidence and reputation has earned them headline shows in their home town and also in Birmingham. Completing debut E.P. ‘WOMB WITH A VIEW’ in the Spring of 2005 with local producer James Mulvale, the band released it with local interest ensuring healthy circulation figures for an indie E.P. If you want a copy, send a message to us or info@rippletank.co.uk After playing a string of Summer dates, the band are taking a few weeks off to work on material for the next release, due to by recorded in November. James is once again producing the record, for a release expected around Christmas. They returned to the live arena in September with shows in Lichfield, Redditch and Birmingham before playing at the huge KUBRICK and KEIKO show the the Golden Cross in Redditch on Guy Fawkes night which was a belter.
