Expression. Emotion. Intensity. None seem to be demanded of a successful rock outfit in 2006. Yet from the throes of this musical generation lacking meaningful lyrical content and crosshair musicianship, emerges a vital remedy: Mindrite.
In a claim as bold as its musical aesthetics, Mindrite hails from Des Moines, Iowa--a place deep rooted in musical expression. This five-piece band is composed of members from various musical backgrounds, resulting in a melodic yet aggressive presence. In June 2004 the band went into the studio with producer Fred Missouri (Facecage) to release their first full-length effort, entitled Author of Addiction. Mindrite quickly gained a devoted following due to their acclaimed live show and personal connection to their audiences and fans. The 15-track record ranges from acoustic to electronic to heavy rock, showcasing Mindrite's textured, eclectic sound and willingness to explore all musical terrains.
Shortly before the release of their debut, Mindrite agreed to management terms with Los Angeles-based True Player Entertainment, headed by accomplished musician and film director Chad Calek (The Private Public). In February 2005, after touring regularly in support of the record, Mindrite met again with Fred Missouri to produce a six-track conceptual EP entitled the Xenocide. The EP preaches across the six tracks from all vocal angles, trading fast paced, demanding lyrics for dirge-like melodies. Its release further ignited Mindrite's passion for artistic expression and precise musicianship.
