Mary Lorson was the lead singer and rhythm guitarist in the alt-rock-pop band Madder Rose from 1991-1999. Eventually Mary came up with a kind of music all her own that was different from Madder Rose, so in the late 90's she created the artrock project known as Saint Low.
"That burnished-gold voice -- up there with Margo Timmons and Hope sandoval -- lends the speia jazz-pop mood a delicious torch-noir ambience, strings soaring and fading, brass and cello creeping around corners. . ."
- Uncut
"Dark and enchanting, Lorson's voice lingers in the room like the scent of a candle which has been blown out."
- The New Yorker
"One of the finest pop voices you'll ever hear. . ."
- Sunday Times of London
