Brian David Melnyk is a veteran of the Winnipeg music scene, playing in such bands as the infamous 80’s punk band Joe Puke and the Chunky Bits, Boo Radley, and Farley Mohawk. BDM also served a two-year sentence playing the top 40 A circuit, touring across Canada all the way to Alaska and back. Highlights of his career include backing up Soul Asylum and Fishbone, as well as playing Sunfest and Infest (Calgary) with the likes of Bad Brains, They Might Be Giants, and The Violent Femmes. Tired of bands falling apart, BDM decided to take matters into his own hands and build his own home studio. For the past five years, BDM has channeled all of his resources into the project, learning the art of recording, while writing and recording an album. BDM plays all of the instruments on the CD (drums, acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, bass, and percussion) as well as handling all of the vocals. With the recording phase of the CD completed, BDM is now putting the final touches on the graphics and is in the final preparations for manufacturing the cd for release on his own Dentyl Records. Future plans include producing videos for the CD (BDM has an honors degree in Fine Arts, with his thesis in digital video, as well as an English degree), and the formation of a touring band to support the CD. *the 13 song CD will be released in April 2006 on Dentyl Records and will be available for purchase online*
