Born in Flint Michigan, Steven Bornholtz, who goes by the stage name Dj MiD-WAy, started in the mid 90's. He purchased his 1200s and mixing equipment at the legendary Upstairs Records, and found some his early records such Gap Band at the local, used record shops. He grew up listening to all kinds of music such JMJ, George Clinton, Bob James, and many others whom is his inspiration till this day. Some his early gig were at a house parties in the area Flint which became infamous events. He later performed and collaborated with other DJs from the Michigan area at Local 432 and other various venues.
With the production collaboration with Jon Mitchell, Dj MiD-WAy's dedication to his music has put him with long hours into creating this awesome cd and utilizing his equipment to produce trip-hop style beats. He has experimented and fused with many styles of music from rock to metal, punk, hip-hop, rap, r&b, techno, jazz, ambient, jungle, funk, classical and many other diverse selections. Combining the elements of old school DJ style and scratching, he delivers a freestyle of motion unheard of before. In 2001 he released a self promoted cd with over 12 tracks entitled ""Masters Of Ceremonies. The album debuts a whole new feel with songs such as; 'Kids From No-Where', 'Now Playing' and instrumental tracks like 'Masters of Ceremonies' that is sure to bring the crowd rockin. He brings an atmosphere to light so that rapping and freestyling to his groove is both fun enjoyable to listen to.
