Rick Alan Carpenter's music has been described as "Merle Haggard meets Gram Parsons at a Dwight Yoakam concert" and he's just fine with that. "Ive always liked the Bakersfield sound, Texas country, good ol honky tonk with a fiddle and a steel guitar" he laughs. "Songs of loss and regret tinged with humor and irony." Rick has worked in numerous rock and country bands in Los Angeles and Nashville opening for "everyone from Boy Howdy to Van Halen, playing guitar here, bass there, but always writing."
In late 2005, he released Outside of Nashville, a 6 song EP which "continues to exceed all expectations, selling more copies and being heard in more places than I ever imagined!" He appears regularly at writer's nights in and around Nashville, is currently putting a new band together, and is "writing like crazy for my next project, and the ones after that!"

Hey Everyone, May is here and it's finally starting to warm up. Things are warming up in the RAC camp as well. First, Best Country Music Links (http://www.bestcountrymusiclinks.com/) have got yours truly featured in this month's ""Up and Coming Country Singers and Songwriters"" section. It's a good place to find links to your favorite artists and all things country (like me!). Also, Tunesbaby.com (http://www.tunesbaby.com/artists/) has me listed among their ""Top Artists For 2007."" I'm thankful and fortunate to have the support of both of these fine sites. Meanwhile, ""Outside of Nashville"" is still being discovered both here and abroad, and Triplestrand Productions is helping to promote us worldwide. I'm finishing up a few new songs for the follow-up to ""Outside"" which I hope to begin recording by midsummer. Looks like we may be onstage at the CMA Festival, too! I'll keep you posted. 11/20/2007 5:11:54 PM
