Smart has won several songwriting awards and contests including winning the Spree Song contest, the Demo derby online contest and voted best vocalist in the Best of the Best International contest. Smart was included in Music Connection’s Top Ten demos of the year and "Unsigned artist of the Year".
The OC Register said “Niki Smart’s first CD “Seems so Peculiar” was one of the best local releases.
Niki has opened for many national acts and has played at venues throughout Southern California including The Orange County Fair, The Palace, The Coach House, The Musician’s Institute and Niki was asked to play at Andre Agassi’s New Year’s Party and Lance Armstrong's "Tour of Hope".
Niki wrote the song for a LA Times commercial and she also sang and played guitar on it. And Niki sang the national IHOP commercial that aired on TV and radio across America. She also has 4 songs placed in the indie movie "Murder Inside of Me" and wrote the theme song for the TV series "The Heartbreak Cafe".
