If You Knew Cover of Hop on Pop
TSC extends its heartfelt thanks for the enthusiastic support of the If You Knew Cover from Todd Leiter-Weintraub (Hop on Pop)
I've long been a fan of Todd's work. Todd does not pull any punches and drives right into weighty issues where others might not dare to venture. His performances are like his personality. Todd wears his heart of his sleeve for all the world to see. Todd has had some very difficult life circumstances and I've never heard him say a bad or negative word. A positive figure and role model in the Indy world. I wish there were more true to earth performers like Todd.
Two Silo Complex does covers a bit differently than some people who just copy what the original artist did (which is just a different approach) they say imitation is the best form of flattery. Instead Two Silo Complex meticulously dissects and recreates the feeling behind the song. The meaning behind the mask. We hope you enjoy the deep dream sequence of "If you knew". Better yet we hope it haunts your dreams and makes you think about all the little ways we hide our true selves and in so doing deny our own emotions\fragility. We invite you to step out of the dark into the light. Feel deeply\love unconditionally. Most of all be your self without fear.

Ken, you've done it again. You hold a mirror up to the original and indulge the other side of the complex emotions presented in it. "Smiling through the mourning"; Todd's original was the sound of the forced smile, this is the mournful undercurrent. A great reinvention of one of my favourite songs on IMP.

Thank you Mike for the kind words.
I am grateful to artist like Todd, yourself, and Shane Willard among others who allow me the artistic freedom to take their original song and turn it on its head.
In Todd's Original version he say's "smiling through the morning" I adapted it to be "Smiling through the mourning" because its clear the character in this song is hiding his true feelings to put on a brave face, while he grimaces to get through the day.
In another verse Todd says "it'd make you reel reel reel" which puts in perspective how great the characters suffering is that if you walked a mile in his shoes your be taken aback from the tragic experience.
I adapted that line to be "It'd make you real real real" meaning that if instead of putting on a false pretense if the listener could experience all this character has had to gone through that would indeed make it and them real instead of living in a fantasy where its all fake smiles.
