originally from the long island suburbs of new york city, eddie got his first regular gig in new orleans, louisiana, as an opening act at the popular uptown rock club jimmy’s. after spending some time in the u.k. he headed to san diego, california, where he initially worked the coffee shop circuit and later fronted an alternative rock band.
in december of 2003 eddie released his first solo work, an electronic-pop ep, under the pseudonym “governortea.” acclaimed as “a musical drug” (indie-music.com) and “something very special indeed” (leeds music scene), the entirely self-recorded and self-produced governortea ep garnered worldwide airplay, a placement on l.a. promoter mike galaxy’s compilation cd, and scoring credits to the opening trailers of the toofy international film festival.
eddie traded southern california for the streets of new york in the autumn of 2004. he has since performed at some of the top singer-songwriter venues around the city, from the highly-regarded sidewalk café in the east village to the venerable living room on the lower east side. he recorded a demo with producer kerryn tolhurst in the spring of 2005 and plans to begin work on an album in the winter.
