Alec Jensen was once Best Friend, and released a 2004 EP under that name, consisting of hi-fi acoustic pop songs on a variety of topics, but mostly girls. He changed his name to plain old Alec Jensen in 2005 for the release of his first full-length, "Oh! Brother." It was a lo-fi collection of pop folk songs inspired by Daniel Johnston, Devendra Banhart, and the usual, Pavement, and dealt with the plusses and minuses of loss, both religious and romantic. He has formed a band for the summer that will record an album of songs in the vein of Blur, The Walkmen, and The Shins.
