About Genyva Y Grupo Addictzion
Once again, a star is born out of deep South Texas, better known as the Rio Grande Valley. Genyva Salas was raised in Elsa, a rural town a few miles just north of Weslaco, Tx. , her original birth place. At the age of 4, Genyva's parents realized their daughter showed an intense love for music and bought her the first instrument that would begin to unlock Genyva's true talent. With finesse and much potential, Genyva serenaded her family and friends at any given chance during occasional gatherings. Mr. Jose Luis , Mrs. Maria Elva,and Big Brother Eugene Salas soon discovered that dolls were not Genyva's ideal gift of choice; instead, Genyva preferred music records,lots and lots of them. Genyva's first true public performance was at the young age of 5 at the Villarreal Convention Center in McAllen,Tx. As no surprise to her close family and friends, the crowd was mesmerized by her outstanding vocal abilities. It was then that young Genyva was invited by many local schools to perform for other children and thus inspired them. Genyva's dreams and love for music grew side by side over the years. In High School, she joined the Edcouch- Elsa Estudiantina,a choir program which was directed by a legendary musician, Mr. Benny Layton. The Estudiantina was unaware of Genyva's talent until the day she volunteered to sit in for the lead vocalist who was out sick. Mr. Layton was so impressed that Genyva was honored as one of the two lead vocalist for the E- E Estudiantina. Genyva, with her devotion and God given gift, lead the Estudiantiana to many first division awards.This experience would lay the foundation for Genyva's musical journey... At the age of 1 4, she joined her first Tejano band, el Grupo Sierra. The group performed in many local events. Genyva, however, focused on her education and departed from the group. At the age of 16, Genyva discovered yet another talent within her. She wrote and composed many songs, knowing in her heart that one day, her music would touch the lives of many. Fresh out of High School, Genyva joined her next band, a group known as La Fuerza. With Genyva on vocals, the group achieved producing a unique style of music. However, a few weeks before they were scheduled to begin recording, the group dismantled due to difference of opinions amongst themselves. Genyva took her destiny hands on and kept her dream alive. After several years, Genyva and long time friend, Chris Rodriguez, from Donna, Tx. , begin recording on their own. Genyva's first independent single, ""Te Voltie La Cara, "" (a cumbia) was recorded at Pro Sound Recording Studio in McAllen, Tx. The single also included a song entitled ""Tarde, "" (a ranchera). Thanks to Rudy Trevino and Tejano Gold, the single aired all over the country on Deja Lo O Bota Lo. Taking this initial independent step would prove to Genyva that she was heading in the right direction. While in the studio, Genyva met some young talented musicians and together formed the group Deztyno. Genyva Y Deztyno shared the stage with many groups known in the industry today, such as Intocable, Emilio Navairra, La Differenzia, Fama, Ramon Ayala, Ruben Ramos and Laura Canales. Although, Genyva's experiences have taught her that when one door closes another one opens. It is with this optimistic outlook for her career that she has remained in the music scene. Genyva recorded her second independent single entitled ""Fuiste Tu"" and ""Lograre Olvidarte. "" Genyva is on her way to becoming one of the leading Regional Mexican female artists in the country. Genyva has composed and written all her songs on her 2 separate singles and is the perfect combination of talent and beauty. Genyva has also been invited to sing the National Anthem for some of the biggest events at the Dodge Arena Hidalgo,TX. She had the honor of representing South Texas at HBO's first event ever at The Dodge Arena HBO Boxing After Dark. She recently won a singing contest on Univision a very popular show here in South Texas ""El Show De Marcos Valdez"" son of legendary comedian El Loco Valdez. Marcos with a talent of his own is currently filming in Mexico where he will play Tin Tan they couldn't have chosen any one better for the part . She won the oppertunity to record a 10 song cd but little did she know the sponsers would be so impressed that she would be offered a contract by Joey International out of San Antonio,TX. The CD will include four songs composed by Genyva as well as outstanding music arrangements once again by Chris Rodriguez from Donna,Tx The CD will also feature a duet with Jesse Flores from the Tex-Mex Cadillacs. A dream come true to Genyva who is a big fan! The CD will consist of 12 songs one of which will pay tribute to legendary female vocalist Laura Canales. Hours and hours at the studio have come to an end . She would like to thank C.R.L. Recording Studio Donna,TX ,ZAZ Recording Studio San Antonio,TX .Guest musicians that will be featured in the album.
