LIl Rocka gets her start in the heart of Detroit MI. She began her musical journey at an early age in the True Faith Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for years, eventually becoming 1 of the main soloist and directors of the city. She then formed a Girl's Group by the name of JWUN(just what U need). This group continued on for years singing all over the city of Detroit for Charity groups, competitions, and finally recorded a demo in California. The group was having difficulty deciding on what genre to become which ended up in the final breakup. After this Nichelle(LIL Rocka) decided to go SOLO and move to the BIG Apple(NYC). This was a BIG deal moving from such a small city to a big 1, but Lil Rocka did it!. Since she has worked with many Artists such as Joe Cocker, Nona Hendryx, Mario, Kelis, Monica, Tamia, RES, Taylor Dayne, and the list goes on and on..... She has written songs for commercials as well as Title songs for Television. The move was a good 1 and she continues to prosper. Her project now..""Rock Baby Born"" is a collection of songs written by Lil Rocka that comes from a turmoil of finally finding her Voice. It took a while to determine who and what I am and Not what everybody else wanted me to be.
