With a boom crash boom and a shit load of borrowed blues, Gutbucket Slim just don't give a fuck if you like it or not. Though there may be much speculation to his real identity it matters little to Slim, this is because his blues emporium is supposed to be a shared experience, a kaleidoscopic collage of blues, beats, rhymes and riffs made for the sheer hell of it. Borrowing from a multitude of eras and hosted by a slew of unlikely (and unwitting) collaborators, Slim has created a kind of musical patois, something that shouldn't make sense but strangely speaks a common code to all of us.
Whether it be mixing Howlin Wolf with Mos Def, Michael Jackson with a texas shuffle, or George Carlin with Muddy Waters, Gutbucket Slims Blues Emporium is fused together with the guitar slinging antics of Slim himself and melded shut with a whole bunch of unpretentious, but never trivial good times.
