Danny Alcazar (pet named “Segosha” by his Irish grandma) is a self-taught guitarist and singer-songwriter. His music is deeply inspired by his three boys (aka "The Galactics"), spiritual combat, as well as the works of literary giants Dante, Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, G.K. Chesterton, T.S. Eliot, Thomas Merton and Charles Bukowski. Danny's musical heroes include Marc Bolan (T.Rex), Thin Lizzy, The Beatles, Rush, The Pogues, Planxty, Led Zeppelin, U2, Radiohead, Audioslave and guitarists Paco de Lucia, Robert Johnson, Hendrix, SRV, Van Halen, Gary Moore, George Lynch, Vito Bratta, Michael Schenker and Brian May.
In 1997, Danny released his first self-produced CD, “Doteen”, filled with adventurous guitar arrangements, whimscal lyrics and soaring choruses. In 2000, he won Songwriter's Monthly lyricist award for his song, "Laughing at the Sun", a much loved anthem in tribute of kindergartners. In 2001, Danny was voted 'Artist of the Week' for six straight weeks at 92.5 FM WQYZ with the song, "Better Day", a MS Gulf Coast hit. In 2003, he released his second CD, 'Carve Me a Moon', which explored cosmic lunacy, Irish heritage, Seattle life, surrealistic art and perspective, CSX trains and a certain tumultuous love affair with the Mississippi Moon Goddess. In 2004, his song, "Arrow to the Sun", was voted 'Track of the Month' by musicians and listeners of Garageband.com. In 2010, Danny released his third CD 'The Gold Line', a concept album dealing with themes of spiritual combat, childhood innocence and angelic things.
Danny is currently recording songs for a fourth CD entitled, "New Creature", a concept album dealing with themes of spiritual combat, postmodernism, moral relativism, as well as the celebration of child innocence and wonder.
