Stephen Castaneda is a focused and determined musician who is just getting started. Although he doesn't have years of experience under his belt he is looking to bring a fresh new sound to the gospel arena. Currently he is majoring in Music Engineering Technology at Hampton University with his major instrument being Piano. He understands that being a prolific musician isn't enough but his lifestyle has to do the speaking after the music stops. He began playing only two years ago but since he started hasn't gotten off of the piano since. After a little over a year of playing he was playing for his home church, United Faith Church of Deliverance in Salisbury, Maryland were Bishop George A. Copeland is the pastor. His biggest influence is Mandel Copeland who in his opinion is the greatest organist on the planet. Mandel taught him to pride himself on the ""Two H's"" being HUMBLE and HUNGRY. Another big influence of Stephens' is his youth leader Joshua Copeland. Stephen looks up to Joshua as the greatest singer in the world. Last but certainly not least he is influenced heavily by his girlfriend Joriee' Dorman, who is always encouraging him to press forward and get better. She is always willing to keep him company long hours after church and just listen to him practice. She is also an anointed, and incredible singer who will have a stage of her own one day. There are so many musicians whom Stephen is inspired by. Some being: Jason White, Mike Bereal, Aaron Lindsey, Eddie Brown, Amos Saint Jean. Daniel Weatherspoon, and Oscar Peterson to name a few. He also has learned much from his long time friend Louis Reid. Stephen has aspirations of going very far with his music and reaching many with the ministry of song. He understands that it's not about him but he's only a vessel to be used of God. Stephen's sound could be described as anything out of the ordinary. He doesn't make ""beats"" but prides himself on making music. Chances are you will be able to hear a little bit of everyone he is influenced by. But you still will get to hear alot of himself and the things God has blessed him to hear. He strives, and desires to be a different type of musician in this generation. Those who are not ashamed of the gospel and will be solely dedicated to playing gospel music for the benefit of the Kingdom.
